Good and Bad

"11All that is good does not need be rewarded;
All that is bad need not punishèd* be.
12That which seems right may in fact mean destruction
That which seems wrong may just be how you see."
-Forenzo 7:11-12
First, I should point out that Forenzo uses poetry to express chapters 6, 7, and 8 of his book. His reasons for doing so are yet debated. I believe that is expressing that it is to show that it is human nature to interpret certain topics certain ways, and that Forenzo is attempting to steer us into a different line of thought. But whatever his reasons, his message here is clear to me: Just because it is good doesn't mean you should do it just to get a reward and just because it is bad doesn't mean you should avoid doing it just to avoid punishment. He also is saying that just "because you think it is good" is not a definite surity of its goodness, keeping in line with the gods' idea of the lack of intrinsic good and evil. Whenever you choose to do something, consider, however seriously you will, that although you think it is right, it may not actually be.
